Autumn and Spring Courses

RUSSIAN LANGUAGE COURSES

Each course offers 56-academic hour face-to-face tuition in groups. For maximum efficiency, the learners are also expected to study independently out-of-class.  The courses aim to develop the learners’ communicative competence in every-day situations by fostering the use of reading, writing, listening and speaking skills.

Levels

The courses are mapped to the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR).

Course description	Entry level (CEFR)	On completion (CEFR)
The course is designed for the learners who do not have any knowledge of Russian. It aims at the development of communicative language competence. By the end of the course, the learners will be able to take part in a basic factual conversation on predictable topics.	Absolute beginners (ab initio learners)	A1
The course is designed for the learners with elementary knowledge (A1) of the Russian language. It aims to establish the learner as a confident language user in a range of predictable everyday situations; to further develop the understanding and appreciation of the salient linguistic features of the language. By the end of the course, the learners will be able to express opinions and offer advice within a known area and write on familiar topics.	A1	A2

 

Certification

The course certificate is issued to participants upon successful completion of assignments and cannot be obtained without active participation. Those who have successfully mastered the course may take the Test of Russian as a Foreign Language (TORFL) for an additional fee and receive a certificate.

 

Student support

The learners are advised to purchase a textbook. They are also provided with the materials designed and produced by the professional educators of the Centre for Applied Linguistics as well as other materials.

COURSE FEE: 230 EUR (including VAT) Payment should be made on enrolment before the start of the course.

Please note that our courses require the minimum number of 6 students to run.

If a course is cancelled due to insufficient numbers, you will be notified before the course date and a full refund of the amount paid will be made.
